I am about to have my third operation to try and get clear margins. I was diagnosed with DCIS in January. Last week I was told that the rule of thumb is that 'you don't go in more than 3 times' and would love to hear from people who have had multiple surgeries before completing their radiation. At this point, I am not able to face the possibility of a breast removal. I don't have a family history of breast cancer, but do have some personal risk factors.
