I thought that I had already found my soulmate, and I was sadly mistaken. I may never find that person. So, yeah..I can relate.

I think it's possible to find a soulmate...the process is just too darn hard and painful...:(

That is a good question, I'm on my 2nd divorce and thought both times I had found the one. I think that I need to be ok with me and then, maybe someone will show up and light up my life. I have a long way to go.

You should be your soulmate. When you try to love someone more than you love yourself for some reason they get bored and want some new love/challenge.

If you are your soulmate you can't lose!!! If you love and nurture yourself more than you love someone else they don't get bored. They spend their lives trying to show you how much they love you. If they ever leave you wo't be destroyed...you stil have your soulmate.

Like other people here, I thought I had found my soulmate in my stbx. although my life was filled with many life challenges, I had spent a lot of time working on myself before getting married. I have never been so open and honest with a man in my life. I dont know that I will be able to be that open again.

There are roughly 6 billion people in the world, so the odds of finding your soul mate is 1 in 6 billion. Finding some one from your soul group is like 1 in 5.94 billion. It is possible that ones soul mate can be of the same gender in this incarnation. Then what? Go to the other team? Nah, I don't think so.

A soulmate is someone you stick to thru thick and thin. You may not know it until you have done it. I dont think you will find one by looking. It is something that is created after the honeymoon I believe. Its the will to stay together. Some call it a weakness and title it co dependance in my estimation. Many look for it but few find it.

I know this. I was sick enough to chose a woman as sick as my sbtx. We were married for nineteen years. She cheated on me three times in those nineteen years. I forgave her three times but this last time, she didn't want forgiveness; she wanted out. How could I possibly find a soul mate when I chose someone who can't be honest? Or I chose someone who can't be faithful? Or I chose someone who doesn't understand staying and working things out? That is my part in it. I need to get to where I can attract, chose and keep someone who is like me, committed, honest, moral, not someone like my sbtx. My goal now is to work on being ok with myself.

I agree with loving yourself first will attract the right person. I did and have been dating a wonderful man for the last 3 months. We have the same value system and that is first and foremost the most important.

I believe in soul mates. I think they come along when you least expect them. Its a good idea to be prepared (having your shit together makes for a much nicer relationship) I found my soulmate when I was very young. We were together for several years. We finished eachother sentences... always excited to see eachother, every day was like the first time... it does happen. Situation separated us and we were both young having no idea what we had our hands on. we both ended up with other people. We still talk and occassionally would see eachother. Yes, we still finish eachothers sentences and admit that we think of eachother daily. Why does life have to be so difficult... I would give anything to go back and make different choices. Perhaps we were to be soul mates only for a time in the physical sense.

This is really a sad topic for me because I truly did think I found the "one". I thought we had "it" and in the end, he did not think so.

So do I believe that people can be soulmates? What does that really mean? Then maybe I can answer that question. I am hopeful that it can and does happen though.
