I am not "IN LOVE" with my H the way I was 5 years ago. But that is normal and you don't leae people for that!
She doesn't love you more than anything.
she's not happy and wants to go her own way, but doesn't have the words to say that.
So she's telling you in a way that she thinks will hurt you less. She doesn't understand that what you need is the truth.
IMHO.
Especially when it comes to a marriage.
The feelings we have when we first meet someone, and in some cases marry them, do fade over time.
What you are describing sounds like someone who is trying to make everything -sound- like everything's okay while ignoring what the actual issue is.
Being in love is like a forest fire it has a life of it's own. It has a need for more and more fuel to keep it going. Finally it either uses up all it's fuel and dies out or it can smolder. It can also be a controlled burn that leave the land intact to renew itself. This is the type of "in love" that is the lasting type.
The other type of Loving is more like rain. It feeds and nurtures. It allows for growth and replinishment. It can be a gentle rain or a thunderstorm. But it always is a bringer of life and nourishment to the relationship.
The first type of love is shared with very few. The second type of love can be shared with anyone. And the first type of love can mature into the second type of love.
Okay that's my take on it.
What is love???? HERE, since I cannot think of it, definition...sad!!!!
1 a (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties (2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests b : an assurance of love
2 : warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion
3 a : the object of attachment, devotion, or admiration
What "they" are looking for is that rush of new love and passion, the infatuation phase. They want that to last forever and think it is supposed to be that way.
Mature love is deeper than that and has a sweet contentment to it. Not as thrilling perhaps, but sounds good to me.
