Trying to decide about today

My dad and my stepmom are visiting from Florida, today we got invited to my cousin's house (who I haven't seen in about 35 years), small get together my dad's 2 brothers and there wifes, my cousin and his wife. My brother and my nephew will be there, but i don't really know if I want to go, my dog is not doing to great, and I don't feel very festive at all right now, down in the dumps big time.
My dad is coming to see me tomorrow at my apartment, so should i skip today, or go for a few hours? I can't seem to make any decisions anymore.

Go. Engage yourself in listening to what is going on in their lives and try to connect. Why wait another 35 years? Family can be fun.

It's worth a shot, even if you just stay for a little while. Isolating at home wont make you feel any better. Hugs to you (and your little dog too)!

I'd go if I were you, Rebs, no matter how big a push you need to give yourself. It's better to have regrets for doing something than regrets for not having done something...and I don't think you'll regret going at all.

I would definetely go as well. I can imagine that possibly (I'm not sure) you may be feeling unsure b/c it's been so long since you've seen them, I can get uneasy about situations like that/kinda' nervous and not sure if I should do it; but go, life is short, and family is important, it's vital to connect. :)

Thanks for the encouragement, I am going to go for awhile and thats very true Jo, and my sister in law just told me she is dressing him up in a cute little Christmas Suit, I have to see that. I also want to note I decided today to take off my wedding rings, its time.

I find when I don't want to do something that in doing it anyways(faking it til making it)I always feel better.It will take your mind off things for awhile.o hell...your nephew is going to be quite the man and you wouldn't want to miss that!!!!

I am going leaving in about 1 hour, its' about an hour drive from me, there having a catered brunch it should be very nice, and my nephew will be there I can't go wrong with that. Thanks for giving me the push, it is hard to go but i am, my dad isn't here very often so I am going to be with him too.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
