I know this subject has been talked to death, but I have decided to spend Thanksgiving by myself. I've been invited to a friend's house, but I think I'd like to be alone and reflect on my life that day.
So I bought a turkey breast (the only manageable size turkey I could find for one person!), and all the things to go with it, and I'm going to cook myself a nice dinner that day.
I'm NOT going to sit here and feel sorry for myself for being alone. I'm spending the day alone by CHOICE. I would like to think about the things I'm thankful for, and even the things I'm not so thankful for. Because I believe that even the bad things in life serve some purpose; it's just not always immediately clear what that purpose is.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Hope you have a peaceful and comforting day no matter how you spend it.
I'll think about you and all my DS friends that day and give thanks that I know you all.
That is wonderful. You have identified the difference between solitude sought and lonliness imposed. Will you write down what you are thankful for, and can you share some of those things with us?
I believe that we should all have an attitude of gratitude. Each day, we say thank you for we had, what we have, and what we will have. Have you seen The Secret? If it's not too late, see if you can get a copy, then watch it on Thanksgiving. What a great day to give thanks!!
Janell, you are on the way to a full and complete recovery!
I haven't seen the Secret, I'll have to try to find it this week. I was thinking that I need either a movie or a good book for that day. (Can't spend every minute of the day reflecting on my life, it hasn't been all that exciting!)
I am having family at my house.
