Ok, so this will sound corny but I am going to write letters to Bruce Springsteen and Sylvester Stallone and tel them both that they have been instrumental in me not completely cracking up in the past 2 months. I have watched ROCKY BALBOA a dozen times-for some reason it makes sense to me in a mindless sort of way. I keep getting some strength from the line, it doesn't matter how hard a punch you can take but that you can get back up"
And I listen to Springsteen's MAGIC at least 3 times a day. I can't be blue when I listen to that.
Such stupid simple things, but they've been keeping me sane.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I owe all my weightloss to Richard Simmons!! I worked out to his "Sweatin' to the Oldies" video, and lost 125 lbs!! Well, that and weight watchers, but still, I love Richard Simmons...
Whatever works, right Waverly??
Now I listen to Michael Buble and I sing like Im on stage in Vegas.. Yeah Baby!..
I would like to thank Oprah.. for two things I heard many years ago on the telly:
1. Understand the difference between your Needs and your Wants.
2. Listen to your little voice within. That gut feeling... don't ignore it.
And I would like to thank all the chocolate makers and coffee growers around the world for my caffiene addiction.
And I would like to thank the sugar cane growers for supplying me with fine West Indian rum, and the grape growers world wide for the lovely wines.
I know a Bruce Springsteen concert helped me a lot during a very sad time once.
I like music a lot, but have to be on the alert to hit the "next track" button on some songs. (smile)
We all have our "uppers" :-D
I listen to Britney Spears when I'm having a really rough day.
Not because she lifts my spirits or inspires me...
It's just hard to think when her mindless pop-inspired drivel is on. It's like a mental enema.
Thank you, Britney.
I never thought about Britney as a 'mental enema' - I'll have a hard time getting that image out of my mind.
Great thread!
I still need to watch Rocky Balboa, I loved all of the Rocky movies, yes even Rocky 5.
