That's aweful!! I'm so sorry. Did he pay someone to serve you or did he do it himself? I hope you know we're all thinking about you during this rough time.

We signed the Separation Agreement Thurs.
Friend asked her how's it going yesterday, she said All My Way
I saw this guy today, he figured the agreement was signed, and she got a lot, by the way she acted.
Just a thought, it means nothing, but in the 27 years we were together I made about $1.7 million, she made about 70,000. My money was ours and hers was hers to spend on her. Oh well, it's over. Just comes down to dollars and cents.

I didn't want him to file, at fist, it ws so scary to think about getting the papers. Then, after a few weeks, I aksed him when he was going to fiel and he was hemming and hawing and I couldn't take the limbo anymore, so I filed. Now I am glad cuz he is in no hurry to do anything about this divorce, happy jsut to walk away adn leave me hanging with everything while he starts his "new life". At least I now get some control over when I get my real name back, and I got to say what our date of separation was, better than waiting on him to do something as it turns out. So even tho it was a horrible thouhgt to get divorced, once i realized it was going to happen i felt better taking some of it into my own hands instead of letting it happen to me. Just my experience, I know it is so different for everyone.

My stbx couldn't wait to file. He told me about OW 6/13 and, within a week, was asking me when I would file. I guess I didn't move fast enough for him. He filed 7/7.

I am SO, so sorry. I remember the pain all too well. He blind sided me with mine, met me to tell me that he was sorry and wanted our marriage to work and then somebody showed up and served me. I did NOT want it. I just look at him and started to lose it so I drove off. It hurt really, really bad and I am so sorry that you have to deal with that today. I hated that day. My wife had left. I knew something was wrong though "I want a divorce" wasnt said. You can say I thought I was ready for it.

Well, it was the day before Christmas Eve, toward the evening, and there was a knock on the door. Standing there was a very apologetic guy and he handed me my papers. I said, dont worry about it and he left.

Stapled to the papers was a business card from the processors. "The Bad News Bearers". That was the name of the serving company. Funny now but it was insult added to injury at the moment. Only a true alcoholic could be so cruel during the holidays.

That started a long anxiety filled period in my life that I will never forget.

I feel your pain and understand. I am sorry for you, and add...stay focused on the job at hand, and some day it will be history.

I had my husband served, but he picked up the papers himself from the lawyer. I had no idea where he was as he walked out. Of course, we later found out he was living with the OW. He did not file because he wanted the tax and health benefits. He says he doesn't want to marry her, just sleep with her. Lucky woman!!!

So, anyway I still know how you feel,because it was just as ugly for me to seek out an attorney and get the whole thing going. I am very sorry and I am sending you hugs and prayers.
