We are the victims of first strike; our partners, who once shared our foxhole abandoned us, so we are the ones left on the battleground betrayed and licking our wounds. None of them are on this site; we are. They, as many of you have pointed out, are out there, out of the foxhole, living it up, having a great time, in love and carefree, without any concerns.

May they be hit repeatedly and ferociously in the crossfire.

not good to wish anything on anyone, just work towards taking care of yourself. you can't control actions of another, just how you react to those. do for you, the rest will work out

At our lowest, we always wonder why they don't feel our pain. It's not fair. We just wish that they could feel the tiniest ounce, because they hurt us so bad :(

RobNi, when you said "none of them are on this site," it rang so true. That's exactly my point in our relationship and now divorce! I was the one to work on our relationship all these years, I was the one who found the counselors and went week after week, I was the one to read any and all self-help books and I am the one who is on this site -- not him. Funny how he now tells people that I'm the one who wants this divorce, not him. That's exactly the outcome that I DIDN'T WANT!

I only feel like the victim because I realized I was in this game all by myself. He never even entered the ring. Because there was no other choice (after 18 years of trying) I've decided to stop playing and now he's playing the victim. "This is what she wants." Go figure! Thanks for the post.

    I have been here before, a long long time ago and now I am back.Forgive me for not just saying what I want to say,even under a triple dose of antidepressants it is still raw and seeping and I am hesitant at revealing it as at least under the bandages around my heart I don,t have to look at how raw and wounded.My child was cleaved from my heart by his own actions. my child of ten,turning eleven...

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
