I have never had the perfect relationship with my stepson - he's 15, so that explains part of it - but it was a good relationship. Now that he knows his mom and I are splitting up, he won't listem to me anymore.
I came home from work early today and caught him skipping school (he's not a good student). I forbade him from going out with his friends because of it and he just ignored me and left anyway.
I'm at a loss over what to do. I know what I want to do...I WANT to punch him in the face, but I would never do that!
Any thoughts?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
That happened to me. My I just say one thing?
GET OUT NOW!!
BTW, his mom handled it...I called her right away and she went over to his friend's house and brought him home.
I WANT TO PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE!!!! Good thing I have a heavy bag in the garage!
Let me tell you something about 15 year old boys. By the time you catch them skipping school they already have a pot marked attendance record.
If Mom goes to the councelor maybe its time to save his grades and get him going again. If you go with the way he is acting out it might make it worse. If Mom is real slouch maybe a call by you to councelor with concern will help.
I'll give him a shovel so he can practice digging ditches, but I'll probably have to tell him which end goes in the dirt.
I would hate to do something in anger that I would regret. I've already had words with him about this today (obviously), and now I just need to try to relax and not do anything out of emotion or say anything that would affect him in the long run.
But he is really pissing me off!
I'm afraid now that he is going to do something stupid, like vandalize my property or something like that and that the police will eventually get involved.
A month ago, before our breakup became known, this would have been a 2-week grounding AT LEAST!
I understand that he's going through a rough time, just like the rest of us, but he's really pushing my buttons and he's doing it on purpose because he knows he can get away with it.
