My best friend's bday is coming up and I'm not sure what to get her....(keep in mind this nursing student is low on funds)...kinda wanted to get her something meaningful though, she helped me a lot in the early phases of seperation.

What are her "vices" so to speak. Does she enjoy good coffee? If so buy a pound of gourmet for her and a nice mug. Tea? Hot Cocoa? Chocolates? A small box of really good Chocolates is better than a large box of so so ones. How about "Gift Certificates"..from YOU? Things like "Redeem for a round of Monopoly", or "Redeem for a cup of Coffee with me and unburden your soul". Best friends appreciate time...just like you have appreciated hers!

Buy her a nice card and clean her house.
In the card, tell her how much her love and support has meant to you.

Well I believe everyone needs a bit of pampering.

For bridal showers and baby showers I always do a spa basket for the gal.. something they are not expecting... no potholders or baby blankets.. something just for them.

1. Large body towel
2. Face cloth
3. Bubble bath or Bath Salts, I like Lavender since it relaxes me.
4. Bath bombs
5. Inflatable neck support/pillow for the tub
6. 2 scented candles
7. 1-2 floating candles maybe.
8. Sloughing gloves (those knitted body gloves)
9. African Salt Body scrub from the Body Shop

That's just an example of what I get.. depends on who it is for and what my budget is.. I can pick up a lot of these things at a Distcount store. I usually put everything in a nice basket that they can keep on the counter or reuse.

Need to know more about her,, is she married.. does she have children? If so how bout a night out without the kids... Like a gift cert. for her and a guest to the movies or a nice dinner? If she is not married with kids, how bout you take her out for a nice dinner and movie? I have found that I would much prefer someones time instead of gifts!
That is just me... is my lonliness coming out in this? ;-)

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
