It is hard enough dealing with the idea of my husband leaving and having to take over a massive mortgage. But today the solicitor says I have to pay stamp duty on the mortgage for the house we own because I am transferring equity into my name. The only way to avoid it is if they have evidence that I have started divorce proceedings....I feel like Im being forced to start divorce proceedings when I could have done with some breathing space when he finally packs up and goes. Reduced me to tears again. This is too hard. He has received a letter from the solicitor asking him to sign over his half of the house, once he has done that its all over. Every letter on this and every step is so painful
