I filled out paperwork for my son's school and he (13 years old...almost 14) told me to leave the "dad" part blank. I was planning to anyway since their dad hasn't had anything to do with them at all in over 7 months (they haven't even talked to him) and I have sole custody...but it was just sad that son pointed that out. I think he was worried that the school would contact his dad if something happened. How horrible this must be for a teenage boy!
