I have been separated for a year and a half and divorced for about 6 months. it was the best thing i have ever done for myself and my kids. starting over and being a single mom has not been easy but it has been worth every minute of it. my kids smiles, my happyness with my life and myself are all proof of it.

also ,lol ,My ex seemed to have been better with his second wife I thought he had changed and maybe it was not him but "us" that was the problem but now his second marrage has fallen apart and that selfish abusive alcoholic I left is there again for all to see ,seems it was all a frount .12 years and he hasnt changed ,thank god I got my kids out of it when I did.

When I consider the life I had with ex2 and the life I have now, I will take my new life hands down. Ok so I had a bit of financial security when married to ex 2, but I am not doing bad now either. My money is MY money!! I dont have to deal with the drama that ex 2 created and not have to listen to being berated on a daily basis.

I am actually much happier than I was when still married -- but still sad that it had to happen. I recently found I was still grieving, and let myself vent that for a while, and feel much better! He is also doing better then he had with me for quite some time, so I feel that while sad, it was worth it -- for both of us.

I filed for divorce a year ago and I am much happier now than I was at that time. I remind myself of that whenever I get a little lonely or down.

Very happy. My stbx was unhappy for years and dragged me through the muck with him. I was the one who finally pulled the plug. Other than the pain we caused our son, I have no regrets. Enduring a horrible marriage just for the sake of staying married is not a life. It's a prison sentence. Right now, nothing tastes as good as my freedom.

I'm not happy my marriage ended in divorce. But I am a much much happier person. This is what was meant to be. Really hate to see what's it's doing to my kids tho.

Not "happy" to get a divorce, but definitely happy that I'm starting a new life. Even with all this YUCK going on, I feel oh-so-much better than I did when we were living together! I'm better off and so are the children!

My wife seems to be happier. I am not, but I mistreated her and I am in misery, because -thanks to therapy and the separation- I have realized what I did to her. I was a total ass and I will be surprised if she ever forgives me and gives us another try.

i am not happy about it but its fresh. i'm not happy because i still care even though she doesn't deserve it.

i look forward to the day when i won't care for her. then, i'll be happy.

I can't say that I am happy about my divorce ... yet. I am hoping to get there. It has been nice not having to deal with all of her crap anymore. I really miss being able to see my kids everyday and it is lonely. The divorce has helped me realize just how alone I was in the marriage as well. I know I will get to the point where I am happy ... but I'm not right now.

Wow Trevor! Would you talk to my husband and teach him how to take resposibility? Not for the whole thing, it just would be nice to hear him say what you just wrote :)

Let's see, Am I happy? I should be! Except I'm too bussy being ungry and upset right now. I do look foreward to being my happy wonderful self again soon.

A week after we separated, my daughter said. "No one's crying, I thought people were supposed to cry when breakups happened."
She was right on. The breakup was actually a huge relief to everyone, even the kids. I'm filing the divorce paperwork this month, and have no regrets. This is exactly what we need to do. It's hard, but we are all a ton happier.

I find that I am happier now than I have ever been. For the first time in my adult life I am free. I take all the responsibility for my life and kids. I don't have the stress and headaches of taking care of my husband. I am not happy about the way things ended or the fact that my happiliy ever after ended with an affair but I can see such a bright future for myself I have nothing not to be happy about.

There are definately days when I am happy, and I'm not through the process yet. I am hopeful that this means I will actually be happier on the other side of all of this. I'm definately sure it was the right decision!

Single parenting is hard, but subtracting all of the daily tension has actually made it easier in some ways... and much better for my boys.

I am now happy that I know the truth. And you know what they say.. The Truth shall set you free! Being married to him wasn't bad, I was just oblivious to what he was doing behind my back. I'm very glad he finally came clean (although it was incredibly painful at the time) Now I just wish he would take responsibility for his actions and do the right thing for the kids and I.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
