Have you asked her about anyone else? Women leave for reasons or for another person. Sounds like you did not give her a reason based on what you wrote - it may be someone else. I hope not, that would be doubly painful I would think. Hang in there. Time does help.

I went through this same thing...she just one day said she just couldn't take it anymore...couldn't take what?? when did this happen?? Come to find out she had been unhappy for some time and claims to have told me. You get the answer to this one...please msg it to me...

Unfortunately women sometimes tend to "tell" their spouses that they are unhappy in ways other than words. Sounds to me like that is what she has done and u just weren't able to read between the lines. It is unfortunate that the communication was not there before it was too late to save your marriage. She may be having issues that you know nothing about. Just remember everything happens for a reason, even though we don't always know what that reason is, we have to trust that we will be better off in the long run once we work through all the hurt and heartache. Hang in there. Maybe there is someone out there who is even better for you than she is. You don't want to think about that right now I know, but someday you may find that this is the best thing that has ever happened to you. One door has to close in order for another to open.

people change, people drift apart ... who knows what's behind her happiness, only she does, continue to be supportive if you wish, and most of all be supportive of yourself .... not easy, but only you can live your life

Looking back over the past few months, I received mixed signals.

At the end of July, she and I went out of town because I had a job interview. We were looking to relocate. We spent several days together looking at houses, researching schools, the whole deal. She seemed genuinely excited about the idea. We were both bummed that I wasn't extended an offer while I was there.

A few weeks later, I did get the offer...but she didn't want to go anymore.

I guess I'm glad I didn't get the job while I was there...I would have moved there while she remained behind with the family trying to sell the house. I would have been told long distance that she wanted out of the marriage.

*hugs* I wish I knew why our spouses did what they did--sometimes you just don't get concrete answers (thats what I'm having the most trouble with). don't beat yourself up over it though, doesn't sound like anythign you did.

Sometimes when we are not happy we try to tell it in ways we expect the others to understand...then they don't. They don't see it or notice it. If they can't see it they don't know to ask "are you happy". Drawing from my personal experience; she could have not been happy inside of herself or with herself and needed you to fill that void. When you didn't do that she was not just not happy with herself, she was now unhappy in her entire life.
