I was just recently divorced 3 weeks ago. My ex moved out about 5 weeks ago. The past few nights have been hard for my 4 year old son. I have an older child who was a step son and also have a 3 year old son from the same marriage. My 4 year old has been crying for his dad the past few nights. I do allow him to call and talk to him anytime he wants to but tonight my ex did not answer and my son was very upset. I tried to explain to him that his dad was at work and we would call him in the morning. He continued to cry and kept calling for his dad. I try not to but I get so frustrated on the inside when I hear him crying for his dad because his dad never really did anything when he was here. I was the one that made their dinner, i played with them, I gave them baths, I put them to bed, I got them ready for school. Most of the time he was yelling at the kids to be quiet because he couldn't hear the t.v. etc. I know he loves his dad and it is hard for him to understand what is going on. I am looking for advice on how to help him through this difficult time and at the same time try not to get frustrated and take my frustration out on him because it is not his fault. any advice?
