How many of you were financially dependent on your ex? When I married him I came into a substantial inheritance which paid for his graduate degree in aerospace engineering and also paid for us and our two children (at the time, now we have three) to live off of for three years while he went to school. The remainder of the money went to our home. I stayed home with our children, now ages 7, 8 and 10 and did the room/soccer mom thing. Now he's met someone else, is with her and I'm left at age 31 with no degree and no work experience. We met in college, I am one year away from my diploma, but I stopped going when we had our children. I had my first at age 21, which is why I have neither work experience (age 18 to 21 I was in college, not working). Now I'm fighting an uphill battle with custody because I have no job, and even if I find a job (I did find one waitressing, but quit so I could go back to school full-time) it will be a minimum wage job and I can't support three kids with that. So in court, I'll be telling the judge what exactly? I can't support my kids, he makes $120K plus a year and I have no inheritance money left because it went all to HIM! Any of you in the same boat?

BUT.... I feel like my visits are not what they use to be. He...
I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
