I was given a bag of kisses as a divorce "gift", and it was from someone who read a previous jounal entry:
I've been noticing a pattern in peoples' lives and journals lately...or perhaps I've just opened my eyes a little more? Hershey Kisses...
I love chocolate (what woman doesn't!), and sometimes when you really, really need a bit of chocolate a Hershey's Kiss is the best pacifier. You sometimes see them at weddings strewn on the table. Kisses from the bride and groom thanking you for attending. Halloween time they are around in their orange and black wrappers...you can try do disguise them, but everyone knows what they are. That ol' familiar chocolate that fits perfectly into your mouth. At Christmas I think everyone has them in their candy dishes because of the festive green, red and silver wrappers...their little tags sticking out announcing a gift of chocolate awaits. Little "ah's" wrapped in aluminum.
My physically disabled cousin, now in her mid-40's loves Hershey Kisses. She no longer eats, she is fed by a feeding tube. She no longer has teeth. Her daily life completely depends on care from others. But when she hears that wrapper of a Kiss, her face lights up. She smiles and we give her a kiss...along with a Hershey's kiss. A reminder to her that we still remember that she is a wonderful woman, and we know that sometimes a bit of chocolate (although few and far between given her body can't really digest) can make the difference in your day!
Why did I say at the beginning of the journal that I've noticed Kisses in journals lately? Well...my grandmother was a very religious woman. If some little positive, wonderful thing happened to you she would smile and say in her Irish Brogue "Ah, my dear....you've been blessed with a Hershey's Kiss from Heaven"
A little gift from Heaven when you needed one the most....like a song that plays at the right time, or a compliment from a stranger that you needed to hear, a rose on a dormant bush, an early tax return JUST when a final notice bill was due. An unexpected phone call from an old friend...and the friend says, "I don't know why, but I was thinking about you and had to call." Grandma would call those Hershey Kisses from Heaven.
Little bits to bring a smile on your face, and give you that "ah" feeling. Hershey Kiss...I even love the name.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
