I had to laugh at the Hope Floats thread, but for all out break your heart pain, watch Away From Her. Jule Christie is a woman suffering from Alzheimer's who goes to live in an assisted living environment. The story is from the husband's point of view who watches her forget all about him. This was especially painful for me, since , though my wife does not have Alz. she is being treated for her brain injury with alz. medicines for the past 3 years, and much of what the Julie Christie character does and says is exactly the same as my wife when she is having a bad spell. It is a beautiful, heart wrenching film.
