My husband was addicted to marijuana for most of our life together, he smoked at night during the week and more on the weekends. He is a very intelligent man, held down a good job and was very much in control. I hated his addiction, but I didn't think it hurt anyone as he was so good to me and always provided. One weekend he went away to a concert with a friend and decided he was quitting and went cold turkey. After he quit he could never be home, his whole attitude changed, he began doing things that were so out of character for him, new clothes, spending money, etc. It seems when he quit drugs he quit me, I didn't fit into his lifestyle anymore and it was around that time that things started to pick up with the ow. As horrible as this is to say I sometimes wish he did smoke pot, he was a better person than he is now. Has anyone ever been married to an addict and then got divorced after they got clean or am I an exception????
