Brain Injury Support Group
Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

Hi everyone,
I'm just so fatigued right now because everything is just so overwhelming, my brain gets tired so easily....probably due to my new treatment...Hyperbaric Therapy, or lack of treatments
Anyhow, I am just new to this group and was wondering if anyone wanted to chat.
Brief background.......Head injury at 3, head injury at 7, head injury at 10 or 11, head injury at 16 and probably a few other ones that I cannot recall right now.
Funny thing is...no one ever thought to check out what is going on in my brain from a neurological standpoint until the age of 40! We always just treated the pain in my spine, never my head..
Huge wake up call, hope I can answer it, ha ha

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It is interesting that you're first thinking of all of this from a neuro standpoint now. I had a head injury when I was 8, and had difficulty getting through college, but no one ever put the two together. I eventually had seizures (and many years later, two strokes) due to what turned out to be somewhat of a birth defect (arteriovenious malformation).
But ask away, everyone is here to help.
