I need meds to control seizures. It's about 5 years since i had a seizure. The last one was a grand mall but they aren't always that strong. I often would hear them coming in the past. I use 200mg of lamotrigine and i take 750mg of keppra twice a day, does that sound like alot?
I am seeing my new doctor in 2 weeks to ask him.
Do any of you that have had seizures have them stop? I always hope there danger will leave for good but perhaps thats not possible.

I've been on seizure meds for about 5 years now. It's rare but I have had a grand mal occur even with the meds. My dr is aware of this. I'm very fearful of having my meds messed with. What I'm on works. We realized what was happening when I had my last one. For me, I fear having a seizure more than not. My meds work. I do also have a seizure alert dog who is with me all of the time. She's a kick. She picks up on any seizure activity and asthma with me along with my sisters pace maker. I feel safe with my meds but with the addition of my dog I feel safer. I go anywhere I want to now. Good luck with this situation.

First of all it is "gran mal" not grand even though it seems like it should be. I went through Pheno Barb, Dilantin, and another I can't recall the name of right now, and What's good about chatting to people in here is I can "ya know what Iean" and know that you know exactly what I mean.:) Anyway my neurologist finally put me on "LAMICTAL" which was a very good improvement. No seizures for years and I do pretty much every thing I shouldn't do. because of this and getting tococky as to not take my meds I had another seizure so he added "trileptal" with it.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
