Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

When I was 14 I was in a car crash. I don't remember it fully. I do know I hit my head (top left) and ever since then I've been having migraines and small memory loss and lack of concentration.
I sometimes get migraines every day for a week and then none for a month. My boyfriend tells me things and then a few days later he'll ask me about it and I'll have no idea what he's talking about. I use to have the best memory, I could remember conversations from months ago. I remember things from when I was younger, now it's all blank. I can't concentrate either. I had exams last week and it was terrible. In my English exam I just started crying (no one saw because I had my head down). It's so frustrating.
I've been to my doctor and she said that my migraines weren't caused by the hit on the head and that the other stuff was caused by my depression..
I talked to another doctor about this and he said that I could get a brain scan done if I wanted but it wouldn't show anything.
I've had so many other medical problems I just don't think I could put myself or my family through this. My Grandma caused the crash as well.
I have no idea what to do, I feel like crying I'm just so frustrated with it.
I'm 18 by the way.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I don't know how the healthcare system works there. But if you really think it's a problem, and you think there is a solution, I'd talk to another doctor. I would not rush into brain surgery as an elective procedure, though. I had about 12 years to consider the pros and cons before I had a stroke and it was no longer a choice. Every situation is different.
I also suffered in a car accident where my head was struck on the top of the head. I can relate to every thing you are saying. Do not give up and those doctor's are wrong. I also had CT scans EEG scans and MRIs that still show nothing. You need a nuerologist for your health needs. Please feel free to talk with me I understand and will listen. Oh I am old enough to be your mother so I would make a good listener for you.
