Brain / CNS Tumors Support Group

A brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either found in the brain itself, in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Brain tumors may be benign or malignant.

Arachnoid Cyst

I've been searching for others with an arachnoid cyst. Just wondering what type of symptoms they're causing. I'm trying to figure out if my symptoms are due to MS or the arachnoid cyst I've been diagnosed with.

This accounts been closed but flowers, if you're out there reading in, I don't know much about Arachnoid Cysts, but there's a support group in our side of the world. Thought you might be able to contact them.

I have an autoimmune disorder called dermatomyositis, I was having symptoms that were not consistent with DM and was being evaluated for MS. It turned out I do not have MS but I do have an epidermoid cyst. the size of a dime. They are not doing surgery at this time but are monitoring the size as it may be growing. I also happened to be tapering off of prednisone and low and behold the symptoms I thought were from MS and then the tumor, which were neurological in nature, numbness, tremors on one side, balance and vertigo issues, have almost disappeared since I got off of prednisone. So, I do still have some balance and dizziness issues which could be the cyst because it is in a ventricle and it effects cerebrospinal fluid flow. There is a lot of information on cysts on the internet, look at pubmed.
Good Luck,
