Went to my first Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) meeting today. We have no local chapter of the "White Cane Society" in our city but they are starting one and it looks like I will be helping to organize it. Talk about a crash course in being blind!!I did find out about lots of aids and picked up catalogues galore!! We have a meeting tomorrow with a career counsellor and visual aid rep in my home. I think I get my first cane though I'm still able to walk around during the day pretty well. So many huge changes going on. Glad I can come here to debrief a bit.
