My ex bf is BP and for him its very very hard to hold down a job. He has a very good paying job now but misses a lot of work and is close to calling it quits....for those of you with BP I see this a lot in the posts...what in your opinion is the major stressor that causes problems in the work place for you ??? And have you ever had a boss that has discriminated against you because you have this disease ??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am honest with my kids about everything, but I will tell them when it comes up, not to let your boss know the specifics of your conditions. I have been a high paid, high positioned person in a number of jobs. Once a boss knows that you have "mental problems" you will be stuck at- or below_ the level that you are capable of. The truth of the matter is that the work world is not ready to pay for the extra effort/drive that a bp employee has to offer. Give us another ten years and we will be on top.

I told one boss who as a MSW she was supportive, haven't told any others though. Most people don't tell.
- Having to deal with people when I want to isolate.
- Being unable to perform my job properly due to anxiety and/or difficulty concentrating.
I have never felt like I have been discriminated against.
