I like you folks on DS. I'm really happy that I found this site. The reasons are many. A few of them are that there is a wide scope of understanding and sharing. Thanks so much to Doug for bringing it to us. I like him :D
I really love those I call "friend", I'm careful to get to know people before calling them that. I use to jump right in and be the quick "friend" maker only to sometimes be let down as quickly.
I particularly love my very best friend. He lives in Missouri,USA and I'm in Maine,USA. We're a couple thousand miles apart... so that can be difficult for us at times. But, I'm happy to be able to connect with him on the internet or cell phone. He is patient and gentle with me among all of his wonderful other traits.
We have spent time in the physical sense with one another. This year we spent 2 months living together during which got to know eachother extremely well. We travelled together after a good long stay at his home. He's lots of fun with such a wide range of interests. Seems we had no dull moments. Before meeting IRL we spent 5 years talking on the net together.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Welcome to DS.
It's really nice to meet you. I'm sure you had a steady stream of Mania going on in your life. Self medicating "they say" is not the way to go. Although, I do occasionally smoke one or drink one. I'm happy you have been getting control of that. Did you replace the drinking and feeling of fullness that goes along with that.. with just possibly eating more instead? Are you inactive and do you isolate now?
You'll find the freedom and friendship here that you need.
God Bless
Night and Day.
The pages turn quickly sometimes.. and sometimes more slowly.
---about isolation---
Mental illness, I think, is at the core of most cases of social isolation. "Also, isolation causes mental distress, and the stigma and social exclusion linked to mental health problems can make isolation worse. This self-reinforcing cycle condemns millions of people with mental health problems to a life of social segregation.".
-- I'm wondering whether you push people away in your quest to be a loner?
They make me laugh!
I like my job:
Because every now and then I can create something that serves others.

Because I do...
...God only knows what I'd be without you.......
