At what stage in a new relationship do you divulge the fact that you are bipolar? I never have, but just when I was seriously considering telling my new girlfriend of 2 months, she made a comment about a young and famous singer, who is clearly having some difficulty in her life, as being "crazy and bipolar and that she didn't like her". At this point my girlfriend sees me simply as being eccentric in ways and seeing the world through a different pair of glasses than do most other people. Even properly medicated we tend to be different, you know? So what advice would you give a guy who's girlfriend is clearly simply ignorant at best or possibly bigoted as well when it comes to things she does not understand. I'm thinking I should dump her. I don't care much for people who draw conclusions without the knowledge to back them up. In fact as I write about it it's starting to piss me off just a little bit.
