Hi, I am new to this community and I have read several of the discussions posted and several people have mentioned using fish oil. How does fish oil help bipolar? I am currently on a cocktail of lamictal/wellbutrin/vistaril, and my doctor has never mentioned using any OTC products. Do they really help?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Anyway, I'm new here too so welcome.
I don't know what's up w/the stuff but what the heck? I'll let you know if it works.
Of course I have no way of really knowing that it's the fish oil that has helped me, but my memory actually has improved a bit since I've started taking it. And it seems like I'm a bit more on the ball mentally, in general.
It's also supposed to reduce the risk of coronary disease.
If you don't feel like trying it on your own, at least ask your Pdoc about it and see if he or she thinks it's worth a shot.
Good luck and take care!!! (I currently take Lamictal, Seroquel, and Klonopin, by the way.)
Welcome too:) x
