I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post regarding my frustration with my husband who doesn't understand bipolar. I was seriously trying to figure out how many pills I could take in order to scare him but avoid getting my stomach pumped. Anyhow, I'm feeling a little better this morning. DH is hunting again but should be back soon and I'm going to try and talk to him. Maybe if I tell him about the pill thing he'll understand a little better or at least be motivated to do a little research.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Just let him read some of the comments or print out that web page I referred you to.
You want him to be confident that you can handle stress without harming yourself. It is something that is hard to get back once it is lost.
Make your approach a solution and not a problem.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense.
I am not judging you by any means!! I've been there with my ex about 9 years ago! I ended up in the hospital. He was so tired of my crap and knew it was to get his attention. I didn't understand at the time, but as I've come to learn about this crappy disorder, I've come to understand.
I think a better route is talking and therapy. I wish we could just rent a doc, place them in front of the person we want to teach about BP, and let them talk to and listen to this all-knowing Bp source!! Oh if it could only be so easy!!! Easy is not in a BP's vocab!!!
I hope things go smoothly when he returns, Morgain. My heart and hugs go out to you!
