I've been on Tegretol for 2 weeks. (I don't have insurance) I had been having symptoms for a UTI and I was trying to fight it with cranberry juice and AZO so I wouldn't have to see a DR. Well, Sat it got really bad and I went to the ER to get an antibiotic. I peed in a cup, got meds, and went home. Well, then Sunday and Monday I was getting fevers of 102. Off and on all day. I went back to the ER Monday night because my fever was climbing and I couldn't move my neck or eyes with out really bad pain. They admitted me and put me on an IV and antibiotic drip. They did blood work all night and I ended up with really low whit blood cell counts and platelet counts and 3 infections. I'm bruising like crazy and have blood blisters in my mouth from low platelets. I had (have) a UTI, a blood infection, and a sinus infection....and no white blood cells to fight any of it off. They finally got my fever to go down and I got to go home. I've been having to go back for blood work every day to check my WBC's and platelets. They're rising, but not very quickly. (they took me off of the Tegretol, I forgot to mention...and put me on a really strong antibiotic). I go back in for more blood work in about 20 min. My arms are pretty much pin cushions from how many times I've been poked. Has anyone had an adverse reaction to Tegretol like this before? Please help. They said if my counts don't come up in a week, then it wasn't the Tegretol and I have to go in for a bone marrow biopsy. I'm scared...tell me someone else has gone through this. Thank you for listening.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
