I am sure we had a chat about this a bit ago under electrical zaps or sorts but it was more with the brain.
I have a history of tingling and numbness but this is different... I feel like I have bugs crawl;ing on my skin... like an ant or spider... I find my self brushing the spot as if to brush off a bug but its not there... or look and double look that there is nothing there... I am wondering if this is a side affect of my meds less comonly reported. I mean its not so bad I would change my meds for but it would be nice to know.
Im on lamictal, trazadone, xanax (long time never had it befor)and cymbalta for my mental health all my other meds Ive had for a long time...
ANy one know? I want to be armed with info befor I talk to pdoc as she will just tell me its my anxiety and she blames EVERYTHING on my anxiety even when she is wrong

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Cymbalta made my skin feel creepy. Try taking some vitamins.
Oh, well.
It can be a med side effect or maybe a developing symptom of the illness.
Lots of people suffer from phantom signals.
I get tinnitus. Ringing in the ears. Not auditory hallucinations per se. But high pitched buzzing kinda things.
Some people have visual distortions. Seeing spots, tracers, etc...
They come and go. Maybe annoying but not neccessarily harmful.
But if it is going on continuosly for a prolonged period of time, (like days). You may want to see a doc. The tingling could be a precursor to a physical problem.
Above all else you are not overly crazy.
so i chalk it to a form of halucinations.
now here is the funny part... I get assigned to SMI and I tell my case worker the story of my depakote and my bad pdoc... she siad the gal they had was great and told HER about it. she said she wouldnt do that to me... I walk in the room and it was THE OLD PDOC!!! talk about egg on her face. I acted like I didnt recognise her and I retold the story and how I needed a doctor willing to trust that I knew my body. that my last goal was to med seek but Ill take what I have to.
This time I was on lithium and the good ol tremors came back I said something and she stoped the lithium and never said anoughter word about it. lol... I did have to fight for my xanax but I got it. kinda sad and funny at the same time... I still get a giggle when I think about how she was put in her place in a quiet way
Guess this means I should take the med I hoped was causing it again. I hate taking meds.
Well,I got my answer from the Pdoc.
THEY DON'T KNOW.
Many patients describe the crawling bug on the arm or body, brushing it away, only to see there is nothing there.
Some patients see black spidery or stringy looking floaty things out of the corners of their eyes.Just out of view.
Other patients have the sensations of a seris of electric shocks, usually in a small roundish spot ,on the hands ,bottoms of the feet,in the groin or hip area.
Pdoc said, when dealing with something as complex as the brain,a bio chemical imbalance(BP) add to the mix Meds, some of which, they don't even know how or why they work....ANYTHING is possible.
Pdocs try to keep record of all the strange sensations we experience,so that ,they can compile a body of information,to help with the "Cause".
Your doctor is blameing anxiety, because that's the easy way to say
DUHHH,I dunno.
I also take lamictal tho, so i coulda been mistaking the side effects from lithium instead of lamictal? i also take klonopin which is diff. from xanax..
looks like i dont know what the heck i'm talkin about!! another side effect! lol
I guess my point is that there are a couple of diff. meds that might have that side effect, but when u get the pamphlet at the pharmacy, they dont usually tell u u'll have "sensations of bugs crawling on u".. but it's true, thats what it feels like!
