Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
i always kinda "joked" that i didn't get the "good" depression symptom--excessive sleeping.
oh, what i wouldn't give for a good, refreshing, continuous 48 hours of sleep....
well, maybe it is precedented, haha...
i saw on NOVA a couple months ago that sleep is necessary for a person to learn well and have clear higher-thinking (as well as the normal cell-repair stuff). I wonder how bipolar excessive sleep compares? and if perhaps the sleeping bipolar person is benefitting while they're hurting?
mmm, i smell a NOVA special!
yeah, i didn't sleep much as a kid, either, but in hindsight i'm sure i was born bp.
but i remember also that as a kid i was afraid of people seeing me asleep, so i'd be last to bed, first awake, and slept very lightly so i could "sense a disturbance", heh.
