i've been on seroquel for almost 2 years and i've just recently been informed that my cholesterol is "elevated". its at 236 which i know between 180 and 200 is normal. i know seroquel can effect your cholesterol and i was told by my med doc to start taking fish oil pills. has anyone taken these or is anyone having cholesterol problems due to seroquel?

I've been taking seroquel for 2 years & my bad chol. is low, good is high. I eat a lot of fried foods (sinful me!) chol. is 80% genetic. As we age, it can get higher. I'm 55 & my chol. used to be dangerously low. Your nerve sheaths can be damaged by ultra low chol. (mine used to be at 75). My husband has high chol. & he's not on any meds at all. He was told to cut back on fried foods but he doesn't eat those! I've heard fish oil helps but he takes that & it hasn't worked yet. Good Luck with this! I will be reading this post to see if anyone has remedies, so my husband can get some help.

Yup I have had high cholesterol ever since I started Seroquel a few years ago, and yes the Fish Oil does help. My cholesterol was up to where yours is and now it's almost down to normal. Of course I had to change my diet too.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
