I went to my new psychiatrist today, and she said that in addition to my Risperdal and Lamictal, Depakote might be a good idea. It'll cover the manic side wheras Lamictal covers the depressive side. Though I thought the Risperdal was supposed to help the mania and the rage.
I also don't want to have to go for blood tests every few weeks while I'm adjusting to the Depakote. It worries me that I'd HAVE to get my blood checked, that means it isn't exactly a good chemical to be putting in my body. I'm already on enough shit, I think.
Any ideas, thoughts, anything?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
What is still going on with you that she thinks you need to add on?
As for your concerns about Depakote and the blood checks. My daughter takes it and has not had to have but 2 blood tests (maybe even one) in the last year. I don't think it will be as bad as you tink.
Careful with starting the Lamictal. For the first 5 weeks makes sure you follow the dosing schedule of 25mg/day for two weeks, 50mg/day for two weeks, and then 100 mg/day for 1 week. If you Dr. has given or prescribed the starter pack...it is pretty easy to follow.
