I understand that we all have our own lives and our own problems, but is it really necessary to beat up on another person in here just to make one's self feel better about themself? There are alot of beautiful people here. Each individual handles their illness differently, some healthier than others. We have stronger and weaker individuals here. That does not make one better or worse than the other. How a person decides to look at their own illness affects how their life will be. Some try to console others to make themselves feel better. Some joke to make others and themselves feel better. Some straight talk others. As different as each individual is, so are their ways of handling this disorder. As for myself, I try not to dwell on the negativity of having bipolar, but to accept and embrase it and figure out how I can make it a positive part of my life. It does not have to be negative. My bipolar makes me a more creative, caring, loving, and understanding person. For myself, I choose not to dwell on all the negative aspects. I choose to use my positive to encourage others. If that means saying something in a joking manner as others here also do, then so be it. Some here can not reach down deep enough on their own to pull up a laugh or even a smile without the help of others here. I have been med free for over 3 years now and if I dwelled on the negative I would not be able to live as I do. Of course I have my bad days, but I try not to let myself stay in them. When a person judges somebody about their appearance it is because they are insecure with their own appearance. When somebody judges somebody here about the way they respond or interact with others here, is it not because of their own insecurities on how they are dealing with their illness. I have learned through life that those who are jealous of me want to be like me. So if somebody says something in a way that you think you don't like or is inappropriate, think again, because there just may be something about the way that person is that you wish you were. So listen and learn from that person. That person could be the one that helps you to get your life better.
