I have a friend who was dx as bipolar when she was 12. She is in her mid 30's now. She says that counseling is really only for depression and not for bipolars and that the only way to treat bipolar is with medication. It seems to me that both would be effective but maybe I'm totally wrong. I'd like to know what most people do. I'm really trying to be of help to her and trying to do the right thing and not the wrong thing. Your input would be very appreciated.
