Started taking 50 mg in the hospital a month ago. I like it!
However it doesn't make me sleepy, me nightmares and I am concerned about weight gain.
Anyone need more than 50 mg to get the sleepy side effect? I was taken off Ambien and Restoril, given Seroquel and told this would help me sleep as well as treat the bipolar.
I see my pyschiatrist today at 4:00. Good thing too because I haven't felt safe taking Alteril or Nyquil without his knowing (only way I can get to sleep.)

Despite our parents being neglectful, we come from a generational scholars. Most of our family member hold at...
If it works with you stay with it. As we all know all meds are individual, what works for some may not work for others.
I was up to 400 mg at night to make me sleep and to help with the Bipolar. I loved it. It gave me a good night's sleep and I felt fine during the day.
But I gained 70 pounds on it, so I refused to take it any longer.
Good luck with whatever you end up on!!! (((((Hugs))))))
For now, I'm sticking with it. I'm having a hard time with depression right now. I was pretty manic for awhile. Then doc put me on Seroquel and Lithium and they helped but now I am in the basement.
Crashing is never fun. I would talk to your doctor about this. You do need to be able to function during the day but you also need to control your symptoms. Don't change anything until you talk to your doctor. Good luck.
good luck!
