I'm not sure how everyone else feels about the connection between pets and emoitional well being but when I got my 2 cats last year I felt a lot better. I used to be home all day by myself and now my cats keep me company. I was fortunate to get very loving, clingy cats so they are constantly sitting on my lap(even when I'm on the computer). I know that pets aren't an option for everyone but I think spending time with animals can be very uplifting.
