Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Go for the real thing. Tell your doc NOW that this stuff isn't working.
If its an axiety attack I dunno what to tell ya. I know my bp meds have done wonders in curbing my 'manic' panick attacks and I wave off the am and pm ones with a scheduled dose of xanax.
My anxiety... well that I just deal with unless its pushing me to explode from really stupid triggers then I take my meds.
Ask your doctor which of your meds would actually affect anxiety and panic attacks and if they are right for you.
they dont want people on xanax for long or a constant useage because of the addictions most people get from them. I dont happen to get any of the addiction problems from my meds (usually- I wont say never cause then Ill find one I do get an addiciton to) I fought tooth and nail for my script and it was tough but I had to make an agreement with my doc...
One way to combate a doc that is reluctant to allow you to see if its the right med for you is to ask for the extended relief. In my case it would be best for all day coverage... and there is not the peaks and valleys with the long acting as the short has. Its one pill a day at the prescribed strengh for the day that the doc wants you at... they are in a bit more control.
best of luck... fighting this beast is very tough
