For all of my friends following the progression of the DBSA (depression, bipolar support alliance) group I started. I have to sadly say it didn't work out as only 1 person showed up in the 6 weeks I've made it avaiable. A glaring problem was timing, the community hospital who gave me the space only had 9am available which was difficult for me to make let alone someone who is really depressed or has been up all night with manic symptoms so I'm disbanding the group which has made me very sad. However, I just heard on the radio how short of people the VA is in counselling young vets that have returned home from active tours of duty suffering from especially PTSD syndrome. Although I have not been in the military I am familar with PTSD. They did give out a phone # so I'm thinking of calling. What do you think, especially any active duty or vets on DS?
