My husband was recently fired. We lost his income and our medical insurance. Now, in addition to dr appointments not getting paid, meds won't either. Which means ... you guessed it, I will have to quit taking them. I am not in a place that is even remotely close to being able to handle med-free life - he's unemployed, I'm only able to work part-time and I've been unstable for over a year already (med adjustment has been ongoing since May thanks to a severe mental meltdown which required me to resign from my career).
On top of everything else, my husband seems to think that this is the perfect time to spend all of our money (needed for bills) on buying expensive things to build a PC to sell (only, no prospective buyers are anywhere in sight).
Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get through this without:
a) losing my marriage;
b) losing what little is left of my sanity;
c) feeling as though my brain is on fire; and/or
d) completely going 'round the bend and having another huge meltdown?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Just an idea. No ideas on the husband sorry.
Don't file on any gasoline cards and don't show them to anyone. Your husband cant compete with the Walmarts, Bestbuy of the worlds. They buy things in such a massive amount the cost is then given to the customer.
1) It's easy to say get a different job or a full-time job but, we live an hour+ away from the closest community with over 1,000 residents;
2) We have applied for coverage on our kids through state aid; and,
3) My dr and I are looking at requirements for SSDI and putting together the application. (However, there is the issue pertaining to "sustained gainful employment." Your disability has to hinder you from sustained gainful employment for a minimum of 12 months in order to qualify.
Everything we suggest you can't do. There is no way BOTH of you can NOT work and get through this unless there is sufficient savings

* The $4 Prescription program is subject to the following restrictions.
This program is available at all Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and Neighborhood Market pharmacies, except in North Dakota (the pharmacies inside North Dakota Wal-Mart stores are leased and operated by third-party providers). $4 prescriptions are for up to a 30-day supply of a covered drug at a commonly prescribed dosage. Your participation in certain prescription-drug plans may entitle you to pay even less than $4 for certain prescriptions. If you are eligible, you will be charged the lowest applicable amount. Certain drugs are priced higher in CA, CO, HI, MN, MT, PA, TN, WI, and WY due to state laws.
The list of covered drugs is subject to change. Not all prescription drugs are covered by this program.
Only prescriptions initially filled in person at a participating pharmacy are eligible for the $4 rate; refills must also be picked up in-store, but may be ordered in person, online or by phone. This program is not available for prescriptions filled by mail order. See your Wal-Mart pharmacist for more information.
Of these, only 2 are mood stabilizers. Carbamazepine (which is Tegretol) and Lithium. the rest are either Anti Psychotics or Anti Depressants.
My biggest problem right now is hubby's inability to stop spending of what money we do have.
P.S. Simon - we filed in July and received discharge 2 days ago. This does not, however, alleviate my fear of losin our house, losing our electricity, etc.
