Okay, my second attempt at a serious discussion here today.
Do any of you think you have achieved "nirvana", or a state of consciousness where you are one with the universe? Also called "enlightenment" and many other names (besides crazy, for all you funny people out there)
It's a serious question for me, because I think I did experience it one weekend a few years ago and I am meeting a brand new therapist on Monday and I want to know if I'm delusional or just BP II as previously diagnosed.
In my case, it felt like I suddenly understood EVERYTHING. And I could see connections to and from every single thing I looked at with the rest of the world. It was the most wonderful amazing thing I have ever experienced, but after a few days of it, I found it diff to keep up with all the past, present and future connections of every single thing I did and made it stop on purpose. (I think...can't quite remember the end of that weekend). It felt like my brain was on overload and wasn't capable of handling all the info in the universe at once.
Before you start making funnies...there are REAL Buddist masters on earth now that HAVE achieved Nirvana and are not BP. Or so I'm told :-)
And no...I wasn't drinking or on shrooms or any of the other normal explanations...I was just meditating alot at the time.

First, Id like to thank everyone for being so welcoming, kind and helpful. I start Lamotrigine tomorrow and after reading some side effects in a post I'm (more) nervous. I was wondering other experiences people have had with this medication, the good and the bad.Any feedback would be appreciated!

Hey everyone, I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 on Friday and I'm really nervous about how a new medication will effect me. Any support regarding med effects (pros and cons) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
hmnn..I would LOVE to achieve or feel what you have experienced....and when I do--I won't let it go :-)
If it's all about being content with what you know is there for you. Then yes.
But it's more to do with keeping it just out of reach.
I mean after you've had it in your grasp for a fleeting moment.
Keep it just ahead of you.
Back to the washing.
However I did make it to the grocery store and picked up: Naan Bread...in your honor. Have not tried it yet. Will it go w/hot cocoa?
Yes, i know what your are talking about. you are ok, i'm sure it's a big deal to you, but just remember what you learned. i call that a peak a boo. maybe your whole brain was working at the time who knows why that happens. you should at least be more easy going. when i had my moment, it told me that it's not all about me, and i should stop making a big deal about dirty dishes.
Unwise Engineering move.
That was Starship though.
*shiver* that was a poor song ! POOR
I had similar 'connectivity' with all the stuff around too.
It was hellish.
But that was superceded later on.
Back to the very intersting question.
Personally I see Nirvana as rest, ie no longer on the karmic wheel.
Again Spiritual ectasy (sorry spelling will have to do) is where you see the interconnectedness of all things, draw back the curtain to glimpse the divine. I've been there a few time, I try and bring it back and put it into some of my music. I do find it too much, it's like like brushing against a mains lead. After you remainded touched with fire.
It's on yr doorstep really.
If it has a label, it's been named by someone in order to keep it in a pocket.
Acurious...if you can see all consequences of any action, past, present and future, aren't you automatically OFF the karmic wheel? And were you "there" because you were manic or there because of normal meditating and spiritual pursuits? That's my real question...need to know whether to tell my new therapist if I am delusional or not.
BTW, I didn't bring anything back with me except the knowledge that I wasn't quite ready for what I experienced. And the realization that something truly wonderful is out there somewhere, just beyond our grasp.
