I live a small community. Finding new social contacts after messing up a bunch of them is hard. I know I avoid some people because of the way I acted before diagnosis. Anybody have some practical and not too intimidating ways to start leaving "my cave" and getting back into humanity?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Otherwise, head up, shoulders back, fake self-confidence armed, and go out and mingle with them as much as possible. Apologize to those you need to apologize to, and proceed with business as usual. It may be uncomfortable at first, but the more you interact the more they will become used to you. And if your behavior is under control, some will begin to accept you and others will follow. The longer you hide under a rock, the harder it will be to climb out.
