I have 3 children, 2 boys with bipolar. I just need to know there are people out there going through the same thing. First of all I have a 12yr old. with bipolar/adhd/tourettes/ocd/expressive receptive language issues/ severe food allergies, and gastro issues. Now on Monday he hurt is brother and himself. I talked to his reg. doc and he told me that where he normally goes there were no beds available so I needed to take him to another hospital. I was absolutely shocked when they didn't admit him. He has been manic for awhile now and we have tried changing dosages of meds. Then here goes my other son, who has bipolar/adhd/odd hitting a teacher, threating to hurt others and possible himself. So I take him in which mind you is the normal hospital but it was a student doc. The didn't admit him either, even after he told them himself that he was afraid he was going to hurt someone. Well, the reason for the non admission was that he said " Oh, I talked to him and he is all calm now and I don't see any anger now, and that he was doing so well for the last year and what's happening now." Well it is quite clear this doc. doesn't know anything about bipolar. They do have an appt. on Monday 2-23. I am sorry to go on and on. I am just looking for a little support. I have never had 2 children manic at the same time. Not an easy task. I think this week has been the hardest week since the 11 yrs. we have been dealing with this. If there is anyone going through something similar please let me know. THANKS.

im curious, how long have you been stable? What do you count as stability, and to what do you owe your success?
I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
