My doctor (psychiatrist) tells me several healthy babies are born on Lithium-does anyone know if this is true? My OB of course wants me off all drugs if I want to get preg. I'm 36 and was off all drugs for about 8 months, now I'm back on Lithium and Celexa. I'm getting older and my husband and I want a baby at some point!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Important thing is that your OB and Pdoc communicate with each other directly.
I have a beautiful happy 23 mos. old daughter who I baked in my belly for 9 months while taking Lamictal and Effexor. I was taking those before and after my pregnancy as well. From what I understand, Lamictal is best during pregnancy, but for breastfeeding, Lithium is best (it's already in the baby's body since it's from the earth).
Honestly, I would get another Pdoc if he/she is saying that Lithium is a good choice for pregnancy??
Good luck.
