Finally, after two months of waiting I finally got in to see a doc for a prescription. He is starting me on Geodone 1 a day. I requested anabuse because drinking makes me makes bad decisions and meds and alcohol aren't good together. He also gave me capral which decreases the desire to drink.
Can anyone share their experiences with any of these drugs?

I'm currently on Lamictal and Seroquel.
Before I was diagnosed with BP and treated, I drank heavily and considered myself to be an alcoholic. In fact, I had been diagnosed as one many years ago.
It surprised the heck out of me that I lost my 'thirst' for it, after starting my BP meds. I guess I WAS just self medicaing!! I hope it works out the same for you; that you quit craving it.
Good luck and take care!!
