ok so I sarted seeing a councelor cause i have so many issues to work on but she has not graduated yet....I picked her cause i have no insurance and she is cheap. But I dont think she knows what she is doing.........should I find a new one?

I don't think that not having graduated yet means she is a bad counsellor, but if you feel she can't give you what you need, perhaps it is an option. I suppose it depends on why you think she doesn't know what she is doing?

past experence go with your gut feeling and how you feel around her. Trust is the big thing and if you feel comfortable with her

I agree that trust and feeling comfortable is important. However, with this disorder, I think it is also very important that a therapist has experience with the disorder and councelling people through it. "Life issues" are an important work in progress and best handled by someone that you feel comfortable with and that knows what they are talking about from experience and not just a book. It is your choice. I see no reason you cant see her a while and decide if she is helping you. I know therapists that have been therapists for many years that are not experienced in the life issues of having bipolar disorder. Good luck with your therapy. The most important thing you have done is be proactive in your treatment. Hugs

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
