I posted a couple of days ago. Under "Intervention for my bipolar boyfriend"
So the situation is that he was diagnosed bipolar when he was 15yrs old. Wasn't treated or on medication till about a year ago. He is turning 22 this summer. I been with him for about 4 years.
I'd say about 2 years ago things started affecting our lives. Like i said he has been 5150'd 2 times in the last 6 months. He's bipolar consists of extreme racing thoughts for days! no sleep, he thinks everyone hates him and wants him to fail, halusinations, extreme anger problems where he gets violent, depression, crying, christ like complex, and just so many things that will not allow us to go through one day with out extreme stress and fighting. He's eposoides are happening more and more often as time goes by. I say he has about 2 to 3 eposoides a month that last anywhere from 3 days to 8 days. Last eposoide started this past Sunday, he peaked on mon, tues, and wed finally coming down yesterday. This time he was so extreme and horrible he almost fought he's father and did very mean things to me that i dont even want to mention. Its just too extreme and degrading. Sometimes i feel like he hates me with all he's heart because of the things he does to me. Every time he has and eposoide is enough to 5150 him but we don't all the time. He's parents kicked him out a month ago the last time he came out of the hospital after being 5150'd, so he moved out but is now being kicked out of there because of he's violent anger problems. When he has eposoides he does not listen to anyone! all he does is talk NON STOP! He is not commited to any medication or treatment. When he is having he's eposoides he says he's not bipolar and he does not need medication and he's right and everyone is wrong. Once he comes down he will admit he's not ok and that he needs help but still will not commit to medication or any help. He drinks every night and smokes weed every day. We seriously think he is losing it, we sometimes feel like he won't come back from he's eposoides. We are clueless about all the help that there is for him and us. What we are concentrating on right now is getting him on a schedule where he does drug rehab, therapy, medication and anger manegment, but we have no idea where to start or where to get help. We really want to find him some place where he can live and have all the help he needs something like "rehab" maybe? we dont think he should be living alone and we feel like this our last chance. We feel like he needs to go somewhere where he can get the help he needs for a long period of time like 6 months, where he can live and just concentrate in finding a balance. Getting better and finding all the tools to try to live a more normal life. Sometimes he thinks that this how life really is and its not! Life is beautiful and he shouldnt be sufferning like this.
Can anyone give me any advice? Does anyone know of any place that he can live at where he can get all the help he needs? We live in southern California Inland Empire. We really need support, we need help, we dont have resources. We just want to find him the right place for him to get better. Please help us.
Thanks

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Since he refuses to stay on meds and stay seeing a Pdoc,he is in denial that anything is wrong with him.
I know this is not the answer you want to hear..but trust me,,it's true.
HE has to be ready for the help..or it will just fall on deaf ears.
