Not sure how your insurance company treats you, but mine considers BP disorder a "behavioral health problem" and my GP is not allowed to do anything or refer me to a psychiatrist.
After reading several books on the subject, the entire medical community is in agreement that BP disorder is a biological illness NOT a pyschiatric problem (though it does have psychiatric consequences) or a behavior malfunction. Isn't it time that the insurance companies realized this fact, too?
Maybe I'm being a bit hypomanic here, but there sure is enough of us here to start a petition, get authorities on the subject to sign it and fight for our rights regarding our disorder?
Not sure where exactly we would SEND this petition, but I'm sure there's someone smart enough out there to figure that part out?
Welcome all opinions and ideas on the subject, including the pessimistic folks. (With some of us pessimistic and some of us overly optimistic, maybe we can come up with a realistic scenario? :-)
Thx,B

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I did.And I got treatment.
Then the Company my husband worked for dropped all health insurance coverage for their empolyees....ain't that S***
No activist BP er's out there?
Mine didn't cover CANCER! Can you believe, those sons of bitches. I had to file for bankruptcy. The judge said it should be a crime for insurance co. not to cover cancer.
Good luck. Fighting an insurance company is like sending G.W. Bush to MIT. It ain't gonna happen.
I don't think they care what people think or want. They're saving money, that's the bottom line.
It's a private company so I don't think petitions would carry any weight. And the gov. can't force them because it's a private company. Let's just pray they go bankrupt,, the thieving bastards.
Thx, again!
Okay...no petition :-)
