Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
some people come here and talk about diagnosis like it is terminal cancer

you did not "catch" bipolar -
Feel free to post any questions and take some of the off the wall answers with a grain of salt. I am here for you if you need help.

All of us have such different brain chemistries so what might work for me may not work for you. Try and educate yourself as much as possible about BP and the different mood stabilizers.
Take care and glad you found us! :)
You are not alone at this site. You are
brave to look at bp as something
to research. Most meds are there to make you feel better. You just need to find the right mix. I take Risperdal (bad spelling) and wellbutrin and neurontin.
Welcome again and good luck.
My dx is BP1.
The meds I take are Wellbutrin [morning] and Trazadone [nightly]. I also take 2mgs of Trifluoperazine before bed. It works for me I've been stable a very long time.
Lots of experience here, everyone is different but you will find at least one with similar experiences.
L-Phenylalaine, an essestial amino acid and it works so well.
I would suggest this site:
www.healthrecovery.com and look for an orthomolecular doctor and stay away from antidepressants.
I wish you well in your quest for balance.
